I was challenged to design a collection of licensed NCAA jackets for a 2009 drop. After much research into the iconic players and teams from the 70's, 80's and 90's, I came across the dominant, unapologetic roster of the 84' Georgetown Hoyas. Their tough and aggressive style of play was embraced by the same communities that supported hip-hop. Georgetown, led by a young Patrick Ewing, defined the rebellious attitude of the 1980's youth and thus earned iconic street cred. The satin jacket became a badge of honor for those that represented the anti-establishment. Inspired by the 1980's but redefined for '09 using premium materials and details.
